The project has been configured with a total DC capacity of 12,007 kW and AC capacity of 10,000 kW. To minimize DC ohmic losses; the inverters, transformers and switchgear will be strategically positioned within the modular plot. The PV modules will be electrically interconnected using appropriately sized cables designed to minimize DC ohmic losses. The DC power generated by the PV modules will be transmitted through suitably rated DC cables to the string inverters, where it will be converted into AC power. The AC output will then be stepped up to 33 kV using 0.8/33 kV Transformers. The generated power will be evacuated through a single circuit 33 kV transmission line and connected to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Chanauta Substation in Kapilvastu District, located approximately 9 km from the project site. The salient feature of the project is provided in Table 1.
